Keira
Born the daughter of actor Will Knightley and playwright Sharman MacDonald,
(in Teddington, London, England on March 22, 1985) Keira Knightley had always
dreamed of acting. At only three years of age, she began asking her parents
for an agent. At first, they simply refused, but they began to see that Keira
was serious about her dream. Her mother made a deal with her: if Keira worked
hard to overcome a barrier with her dyslexia, she would be rewarded with an
agent. That year, Keira's efforts paid off, and she was given her first agent
at age six.
Keira
starred in her first movie, A Village Affair, at the age of nine (the
previous year, she had a role in an episode of "Screen One"). This
film was followed by a number of other titles in which Miss Knightley had a
role, including Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. However, it
would not be until 2002's Bend It Like Beckham that Keira would achieve
real recognition. After starring in the feel-good soccer flick, Keira's career
really started to take off.
If
seeing Keira as Beckham's Juliet had not given us reason enough to fall
in love with her, we would all find cause enough in what would become the madly
popular Pirates of the Caribbean series. Following the beautiful Elizabeth
Swann, which she would return play again, Keira took roles in such big films
as King Arthur, in which she played Guinevere, and Jane Austen's Pride
& Prejudice, in which she was Elizabeth Bennet.
Personally (and from what I can tell, since, of course, I don't actually know
her), I find Keira Knightley to be a completely charming, genuine, and lovely
person, and a talented actress as well. On top of that, she's completely gorgeous.
In my opinion, she's easily one of the most beautiful women in the world. |
